Application Process – M.Ed. in Educational Leadership

Here are the specific steps for applying to the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership program in either BC or Alberta:

  1. Prerequisites:  While there are no academic prerequisites for the MED programs, these programs were designed for current K-12 teachers.  If you do not have teaching experience and are interested in one of these programs, please contact us to discuss your eligibility.
  2. Application Form: Complete an Application Form and pay your non-refundable application fee of $50 CAD.
  3. Transcripts:  Submit an official transcript documenting a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. Official transcript(s) should be submitted in an envelope sealed by the university or universities you’ve attended.  Please include certified translations into English where necessary.
  4. English Proficiency:   If your prior education was earned outside CityU’s recognized English-speaking countries (Canada, USA, UK, NZ, Australia, Ireland), please submit official proof of English proficiency (i.e. IELTS, TOEFL, CAEL, etc.) Please click here for details about CityU’s English proficiency policy.
  5. Resume:  Submit a copy of your curriculum vitae or résumé.
  6. References Consent Form: Submit the appropriate Consent Form to contact references.

  7. References:  Submit three letters of professional reference using City University of Seattle’s Recommendation for Admission Form.

  8. Self Assessment:   As the essay and writing sample for the MEd in Leadership program, we require that candidates complete a Self-Assessment Questionnaire
