Congratulations to Dr. Larry Green!

We are especially honoured to recognize the appointment of Associate Faculty, Dr. Larry Green as a 2016/17 Shadbolt Community Scholar through Simon Fraser University’s Graduate Liberal Studies (GLS) program. The Shadbolt GLS Community Scholars work with Dr. Yosef Wosk on projects and operate as a think tank for developing strategies to bridge the arts, activism, and academe. Longstanding CityU Faculty member and a 2015/16 recipient of the university’s Excellence in Teaching award, Dr. Green is widely appreciated for his penetrating insight and thoughtful reflections about issues of fundamental importance to human lives and relationships. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Green introduced last fall’s presentation at the Jewish Community Centre by Dr. Irving Yalom, prominent psychotherapist and author.

Dr. Green is a practicing psychotherapist with 45 years’ experience. Over the past 20 years he has facilitated Philosophers’ Cafes with the sponsorship of Simon Fraser University. Green has also published widely in various academic journals focusing on the relationship between the pre-reflective self and the reflective mind. In addition, he is a practicing artist who has displayed his works at the Zack and Havana Galleries in Vancouver, the Surrey Art Gallery and the Centennial Museum in Fort Langley.
