With Arden Henley and Friends

June 20, 1:30 – 4:30pm • CityU Canada in Vancouver, #310 – 789 West Pender St

In this afternoon seminar, Arden and friends will trace the roots and evolution of his thinking over the past decades as his professional journey passed through the realms of community development, family therapy and university leadership.

the quantum world of systems thinking; the literary impulses of the narrative approach to therapy; the poetry of the Beats; and the strange pursuits of administration and leadership.

All of this and hinging on the central principle of his work – arriving simultaneously with coincidence, that Arden weaves into an approach he calls Social Architecture…….with the help of his friends.

Expect to encounter the infl uences of fi gures such asMaurice Merleau-Ponty, Michael White, David Epston, Niguma, Kalu Rinpoche, Gary Snyder, Joanne Kyger, Insoo Kim Berg, Robert Hunter, Steven Gaskin, Ken McLeod, Seungsahn and Lao Tzu. Expect to hear quotes from texts such as the Visible and the Invisible, the I Ching and the Heart Sutra. Expect to hear terms such as epistemology, event horizon and co-emergent wisdom. Expect an engaging, multi-media presentation with lots of dialogue and interaction.
