Volunteer opportunities with Looking Glass Foundation

This volunteer opportunity with the Looking Glass Foundation, may be of interest to our Master of Counselling students. A BC-based charity founded in 2002, the Looking Glass Foundation is a caring community of prevention and support for those suffering from anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. You can learn more about the foundation at: http://www.lookingglassbc.com/

Hand in Hand 1:1 Match Support

The Looking Glass Foundation is always seeking strong volunteers to join us in offering weekly, one-to-one support for eating disorder sufferers. All volunteers over 19 are welcome to apply, but we currently have a strong need for volunteers over the age of 30. Hand in Hand volunteers are not required to have had personal experience with an eating disorder, but those who have need to be strong and stable in their recovery. This role is not to counsel or be a therapist; rather, your purpose is to provide stability, non-judgmental support, and friendly assistance to someone who needs it. The 15-hour training is free, and includes your lunch.

The next Hand in Hand training session will be in Vancouver on a weekend in June or July — dates TBA.

If you are interested in becoming a Hand in Hand volunteer, please submit a volunteer interest form at: http://www.lookingglassbc.com/volunteer/
