Approval, Consent and Accreditations

City University of Seattle is a not-for-profit, accredited institution that has offered post-secondary academic programs in Canada since 1984. City University of Seattle is incorporated in the state of Washington and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, (NWCCU) 8060 165th Ave. NE, Suite 100, Redmond, WA 98052. Its business and management programs are accredited with the Association of Collegiate Business School Programs (ACBSP).

The Washington State Board of Education has authorized City University to offer a teacher certification program, as well as counselor, principal and superintendent certification programs. The University is approved to offer degree programs in the state of Hawaii Department of Education.

In British Columbia the term “university” is used under the written consent of the Minister of Advanced Education effective April 11, 2007; having undergone a quality assessment process by the Degree Quality Assessment Board (DQAB) and been found to meet the criteria established by the minister. Programs in Alberta are approved by Campus Alberta Quality Council, a part of the Alberta Ministry of Advanced Education and Technology, the education authority for the province.
