Dave began his teaching career in education as a high school teacher 1978 and since then has served students as principal, consultant and superintendent in Newfoundland and Alberta. Since retiring from the K-12 school system, Dave has been able to continue his passion for teaching and learning as an Associate Faculty member at City University of Seattle in the Educational Leadership program.
Dave received his Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and Bachelor of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland and returned to Memorial a few years later to complete is Masters in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction.
Dave owes a great deal of his success in education to love and support he receives from his wife Debbie and their 3 adult children Michael, Matthew and Sarah.
One of Dave’s proudest moments in education came when he was recognized by the Canadian Association of School System Administrators as the winner of the EXL Award for Excellence in District Leadership.
Dave enjoys the challenge provided by City University to work with future school leaders as they develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become exceptional school and district leaders who will continue to support the next generation of students and their families.
