Our unique programs
Master of Counselling: Designed for the practitioner and practitioner taught, the CityU in Canada Master of Counselling degree is widely recognized for its excellence in preparing graduates for professional practice and registration in the province of Alberta and British Columbia. The program is regionalized to accommodate the local needs of the community. The program prepares students for registration with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) in both provinces. It also prepares students to register as a Registered Psychologist (R.Psych.) in Alberta or with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Learn more
Master of Education – Leadership: Offered in both BC and Alberta, this program allows teachers to advance their careers to assume leadership positions and are delivered by leading Canadian practitioners and conveniently offered in local districts throughout province on alternate Saturdays. Those who complete our approved program are also candidates for salary upgrade through the Teacher Qualification Service in both provinces. Learn more.
Master of Education – School Counselling: Currently offered exclusively in British Columbia, we offer a fully classroom-based program to prepare teachers for roles as school counselors that is eligible for the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) upgrades. The MEd in School Counselling meets the course requirements for B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors registration as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (R.C.C.). Learn more.
Bachelors of Arts in Management: The Bachelor of Arts in Management degree program is specifically designed for anyone seeking a broad management background focusing on the organizational and human dimensions of the field. In this program you will learn the fundamentals of management—the basic knowledge and skills you need to succeed as a manager in your field. Graduate Certificate in Industrial Arts & Applied Design Instruction: The new BC Curriculum Plan recognized the need for a strong Industrial Arts and Applied Design program in BC schools. CityU Canada is taking an alternative and progressive approach with this new program aimed at giving existing teachers skills to teach trades in our schools. This program will apply “design thinking” across multiple courses, allowing integration of disciplines, so fundamental to problem solving and innovation which is critical for today’s students.
