CityU Canada expands Master of Counselling program in Alberta to include mixed-mode delivery

CityU Canada is expanding the Master of Counselling program in Alberta to include mixed-mode delivery in Edmonton, starting Fall 2016. This will be in addition to our existing face-to-face In-Class Saturday delivery in Calgary and Edmonton and our weekdays full-time in Calgary. This expanded offering will also coincide with a move to a new campus in June for our Edmonton operations, so truly excitement is in the air!

Mixed-mode format combines online learning with quarterly day in-class residencies in Downtown Edmonton. It’s a suitable learning format if you cannot commit to every Saturday, do not live in Edmonton or Calgary, and are a disciplined self-motivated learner who is able to engage in online discussion board exchanges with your fellow online student community and faculty. Teaching methods include case studies and experiential practice, in addition to traditional teaching and learning methods.

This mode of delivery is very successful currently at both the Vancouver and Victoria campuses, allowing students from all over BC to experience an intimate online and face-to-face community of like-minded adult learners. We are hopeful that the same approach will be equally well received in the Alberta market, allowing CityU Canada to expand the community it serves.
