Cameray Child and Family Services is a community-based agency committed to the strengthening of individuals and families through a spectrum of services including counselling, education, outreach, and advocacy. Cameray Child and Family Services has provided specialized counselling services to children, youth, and families in Burnaby and New Wesminster since 1972. Concurrent Disorders Clinician – Temp Part Time

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a charitable organization that supports women, girls, and children at risk, involved in or affected by the justice system. Our programs work to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and crime.

We are recruiting for a Temporary Part Time, Concurrent Disorders Clinician for our Firth Program. Located in Abbotsford, the Firth Program serves women with severe and high-risk substance use dependency as a primary concern and who may have co-occurring moderate mental health care needs. The average length of stay will be 3-months, or longer when clinically indicated. The program is strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally safe, and concurrent disorder capable care delivered through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The goal of the program is to provide evidence-based psychosocial treatment, education, and support to reduce problematic substance use, improve overall health and social wellbeing, and ultimately reduce the risk of death due to overdoses and infections. The program will feature both stabilization and therapeutic/treatment interventions.

Child and Family Counsellor

  • To provide prevention and intervention services to at-risk parents of children age 0-5
  • To provide parenting groups and individual sessions in New Westminster, Burnaby, and/or virtually
  • Outreach may be required for both Individual sessions and groups
  • Preference for applicants interested in play-based interactive groups and knowledge in child development

Volunteer Counsellor

Are you looking for a meaningful and impactful way to volunteer your counselling skills in the community? Oak Counselling Services Society is looking for professional volunteer counsellors. We request that you commit to 2 or more hours per week, for 1 year or more.

Volunteers are supported with case consultation, professional development opportunities, and administrative and logistical assistance. We are looking for individuals with a Master’s degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology, or Social Work, and a current professional designation of RCC, CCC, or RSW. Successful applicants will be required to complete a free criminal record check before being offered a position.

Charis Counselling’s Mental Health Therapist

 POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Charis Counselling’s Mental Health Therapist provides on-site or telehealth therapeutic services to children, adolescent, and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. 

TYPICAL DUTIES: 

  • Facilitates individual therapy sessions for clients ages 2 through 80 years 
  • Administers and interprets trauma assessment instruments for children, adolescents, and adults 
  • Develops treatment plans for clients 
  • Maintains accurate records and statistics 
  • Participates in clinical supervision 
  • Participates in the creation of an overall professional and welcoming office environment 
  • Utilizes above-average writing ability when providing requested reports and letters for clients 
  • Investigates treatment methods and modalities 
  • Provides appropriate referrals 
  • Offers support, guidance, and therapeutic information in a psycho-educational capacity 
  • Consults with Licensed Psychologist when necessary and appropriate 
  • Completes other responsibilities, as required
