Breathing Space Counselling is a thriving private counselling practice in Port Moody, BC. It was founded in 2016 by two Master Therapeutic Counsellors, Nasreen Gulamhusein & Shahaa Kakar. We offer in-person and online counselling for individuals and couples. We also offer community events and professional development training for fellow counsellors.

Ministry of Children and Family Development – Langley

Community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Services provide a range of specialized mental health services. These services range from mental health promotion and mental illness prevention to early intervention, treatment and support services for infants, children and youth with mental health problems, from birth to 18 years of age, and their families/caregivers.  

The Eating Disorder Clinician provides direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention for children and youth suffering from eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. In collaboration with the within a multi-disciplinary team, you will promote and maintain effective working relationships with clients and families, on and off site physicians, schools and hospitals to coordinate services, secure input, cooperation, resolve conflicts, influence outcomes, and provide community consultation.

Child and Family Counsellor

Cameray Child and Family Services is a community-based agency committed to the strengthening of individuals and families through a spectrum of services including counselling, education, outreach and advocacy. Cameray Child and Family Services has provided specialized counselling services to children, youth, and families in Burnaby and New Westminster since 1972. All of our services are offered free of charge.

We are seeking a Parent Support Worker to join our team at 17 hours a week.   The position is covered under a collective agreement with a current salary of $33.83/hour.

  • To provide prevention and intervention services to at-risk parents of children age 0-5
  • To provide parenting groups and individual sessions in New Westminster, Burnaby, and/or virtually
  • Outreach may be required for both Individual sessions and groups
  • Preference for applicants interested in play-based interactive groups and knowledge in child development

the community? Oak Counselling Services Society is looking for professional volunteer

counsellors. We request that you commit to 2 or more hours per week, for 1 year or more.

Volunteers are supported with case consultation, professional development opportunities,

and administrative and logistical assistance.

We are looking for individuals with a Master’s degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology,

or Social Work, and a current professional designation of RCC, CCC, or RSW. Successful

Counsellor Independent Contractor

Working within the support framework laid out by the YMCA, the Clinical Counsellor is responsible for the assessment and treatment of clients with mild-moderate anxiety and depression. This includes; screening new participants referrals, assessment of suitability for early intervention, short-term counselling, offering one to one treatment and making onwards referrals where suitable. The Clinical Counsellor will offer evidence-based, brief interventions, such as ACT, Mindfulness and CBT. Sessions will be offered online, and then in-person where possible.

The Counsellor provides counselling services consistent with the ethical guidelines and competency standards established by their registering bodies and legislative requirements.

Start date: July 6, 2022
