Self-Isolation Program

This plan is designed to support international students’ safe arrival and self-isolation/quarantine in preparation for study at City University in Canada while COVID-19 presents a risk to our community. This plan is part of the City University COVID-19 Safety Plan. The COVID-19 pandemic is dynamic and CityU is monitoring recommendations and Orders declared by the Provincial Health Officer in order to respond with updates to our plans, protocols, and procedures. CityU is committed to following all BC Public Health Officer Orders.

According to the Government of Canada, as of March 25, 2020, all new and returning international students arriving in Canada from another country are required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

CityU is ready to support you. If you are a CityU student, you need to make the arrangements for arriving in Canada and self-isolation. The CityU Self-Isolation program includes:

Follow the steps outlined on the Travelling to Canada section to get started.

You can also review our CityU COVID-19 Travel and Quarantine Checklist to make sure you have everything you need before travelling to Canada.

Submit your self-isolation plan to the BC Government and City University in Canada and complete the ArriveCan process for the Government of Canada.

Register your plans with City University in Canada.

Complete a daily check-in with our Student Services throughout your self-isolation period. Participating in the check-ins will help you provide evidence of compliance with the self-isolation regulations if needed.

Isolating in a new and different country may present challenges and raise questions, CityU is here to help you through the process. Contact us at if you require any help.
