Sanni Paljakka, Tiffany Saxton, Tom Stone Carlson present:
The Craft of Counter-storying in Narrative Therapy
- Are you Narratively Curious?
- Are your therapy sessions a bit too tired and meek in the face of gripping problem stories?
- Do you find yourself longing for consultation practices that do not replicate the Why Don’t You Just approach to your frustration and your clients’ distress?
We warmly invite you to a workshop to showcase the ideas and questions of the sweaty craft of counter- storying.
During the morning, we will introduce you to a simple but daring dictionary of Narrative ideas. Prepare for a lively show-and-tell of higher ethics, practical philosophy, video and transcript excerpts, and always poetry.
(Note: This workshop does not assume extensive pre-knowledge of Narrative Therapy, only a spirited curiosity of new practice ideas.)
In the afternoon, we will take the dictionary into a live consultation interview with a member of the audience and satisfy your craving for word-for-word questions and practices that you can use anywhere, anytime.
WHEN: Saturday, Dec 1st 2018, 9.30-4.30
WHERE: The Common Room at Community Wise Resource Centre, 223 12th Ave SW.
COST: $100 (Student rate: $50)
