Dariel Cole, B.A., MC

Associate Faculty

For the last few years I have had the pleasure of co-facilitating courses with other City U faculty as well as sitting on the comprehensive exam panels to help prepare students for their practicums.

As a part time faculty member, I am also City U Alumni and enjoy returning to the Campus to continue to support the growth of the field of Psychology. I bring many years of experience in working with the public across a variety of settings from not for profit organizations, hospitals and independent private practice. I work with a range of developmental ages and stages and have specific interests in clinical and health psychology.

I hope to one day pursue a doctorate but have yet to narrow down my focus of research. One of the things I love about psychology is that there are so many areas to specialize in. Specific topics that currently peak my interest include: coping with chronic pain and illness, resilience, and psychoneuroimmunology.

In teaching others my hope is that student’s will walk away with some new information as well as more questions about the content provided as learning is a never-ending journey. My goals for instructing students are that they find the material appropriately challenging, get to practice critical thinking and apply clinical and academic skills that will support them in their future endeavors. I want the classroom to be a collaborative learning environment where all parties learn from each other as each individual brings their own life experiences and knowledge to the space. Lastly, I try to incorporate different teaching modalities to try to support all kinds of learners.
