Academic Director of the BA in Management Program
I am a sustainability champion with a deep desire to make a positive difference in the world. To this end I left my corporate senior management career track 16 years ago and founded Earthvoice Strategies. My consulting practice is informed by more than thirty years in private sector senior management, including roles at TELUS, Shaw Direct and COGECO. In my capacity as a sustainability consultant I have gained sixteen years’ experience in developing programs and business cases for sustainability initiatives in the private, public and not-for profit sectors. Each of these reflect the promise of the Earthvoice tagline – “Sustainability makes dollars and sense.”
I recently became Academic Director of the BA in Management Program at City University in Vancouver lecturing on sustainability and entrepreneurship as well as running the program. I am a past Chair of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade Sustainability Committee. I have broad governance experience having served on four not-for-profit boards: North Shore Unitarians, Legacy North Shore, BKS Iyengar Yoga Association (Vancouver) and North Vancouver Lions Gate Soccer Association; and three telecommunication industry boards.
My experience is supported by a PhD in Computer Science from Cambridge University, England and a BSc (1st Class Honours) in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada. I am the proud father of three thriving millennials and consider myself privileged to live in the city disguised as a park known as the City of North Vancouver. My hobbies include hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing as well as teaching and practising yoga.
