Maureen Cureton

Maureen’s first experience in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) sector was managing research and development for an organic recycling technology. Later she was a Project Manager at Rocky Mountain Institute—a world-renowned ‘think tank’ on market-based solutions for sustainability. Since then, Maureen’s worked with a variety of businesses from start-ups to multi-nationals. She managed sustainability for HSBC Canada, the Energy & Environment portfolio for Vancity Credit Union, co-founded Feeding Growth, and facilitates Climate Smart Business, training business leaders and their teams to manage their greenhouse gas emissions.

Maureen co-authored 3 books on sustainability –two of which are used as textbooks at universities. She’s designed and taught business and sustainability courses for the University of British Columbia, Royal Roads University, Thompson Rivers University, BCIT and others. She’s taught course and workshops in Canada and in countries around the world. Maureen holds an MBA and an undergraduate degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Management, and completed the training in the Provincial Instructor Diploma program for adult educators.
