Tara McCaffery

Associate Faculty Member

Tara received her master’s in counselling psychology, at Athabasca University, BA in Psychology from the University Of Victoria, and has over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through a variety of life challenges. As a registered Clinical Counsellor, Certified Meditation Instructor, and Trauma-Informed Yoga Facilitator, Tara takes a holistic approach to counselling and wellness where she can apply a variety of modalities to therapy sessions.

Her experiences include working in numerous counselling settings; private sessions, school districts, provincial prisons, non-profit organizations, First Nations Communities, and the BC Schizophrenia Society as a Regional Educator. Tara is passionate about taking a holistic, client-centred, and individualized approach to therapy with talk and somatic therapy pieces. Her clients value her calming and soothing presence which allows for the development of a positive therapeutic alliance. She recognizes that success in therapy happens through developing rapport, trust, respect, and collaboration with clients. Her core values include connection, lifelong learning, and genuineness.
