Associate Faculty
I have been a Registered Psychologist since 1989. I have extensive work experience working with children and families, high-risk population, including working in federal prison, treatment facility for high risk adolescents, community and group home setting. I have been in private practice since 1998 doing therapy, consultation, and assessments. I am also teaching at City University, contributing in a way by guiding students, sharing real-world experiences, providing practical learning experiences and direction as needed.
Teaching
Make reality obvious: It is easy to be bookish about teaching the subject matter, but if the book content does not connect with the students’ here-and-now realities, that book reality is not real to them. Actual and more recent experiences can help make the lesson topic more easily comprehensible to the students.
