Shelley Skelton

Associate Program Director

Clinical Supervisor

I have been in the role of Clinical Supervisor since 2021. I provide ongoing supervision for students completing their internship at the CityU Calgary Clinic. I provide individual and group supervision outside of clinic hours as well as onsite supervision at the clinic.

In the past, my areas of research have been related to adolescents at risk and social anxiety during adolescence. More recently, my research has focused on developmental stages of a training clinic and the impacts of student self-reflection while in a graduate program.

My first career was in teaching, and I have come to believe that regardless of student age or subject area, it is the learning of students that guide the process of teaching.

I have also taught courses in ethics, counselling theory, brief therapy models, and child and adolescent counselling.
