I am bringing twenty-five years of experience as both elementary and secondary school principal to our learning together. My work as an educational leader in nurturing relationships and developing caring school communities has grown from my academic study into the ethic of care and relational and community based leadership.
I have been an instructor for Simon Fraser University, working with practicing K to 12 teachers in graduate diploma programs. This experience afforded me the opportunity to engage in communities of inquiry with teachers to deepen and transform their classroom practice. I have, and continue to be, inspired by teachers commitment to learning in service of their students and school communities.
In addition to my work with City University, I continue as an instructor with Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Education at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
At the heart of my work in all of these environments is a commitment to the promise of our work together in community.
