CityU in Canada is pleased to announce free confidential short term counselling for CityU students in BC effective May 19, 2020.
CityU in Canada recognizes that being a post-secondary student poses many challenges. Juggling classes, completing course readings and assignments on time all while working and maintaining relationships with loved ones, family and friends can be extremely stressful. Providing counselling, support and assistance to you so that you can be as successful as possible during your studies at CityU is our priority.
Who Can Use it:
If you’re registered in one of British Columbia’s CityU programs, you are eligible.
- A similar program is being developed for Alberta based students.
What it’s For:
Confidential support for psychological/ emotional, social/systemic and academic issues within a Short-term Counselling model.
Counselling notes WILL NOT be included in your academic file.
Counselling will be offered online, using an Internet platform that meets BCACC’s Professional and legal standards (PIPA/PIPEDA compliant).
Our Intern Counsellors:
All Intern Counsellors are current Masters level students in our Counselling and Educational Counselling programs who have qualified to practice under the supervision of a Registered Clinical Counsellor in the province. Intern Counsellors will not be matched with students from their program or campus to ensure that the service is confidential.
