Internship Program

City University’s Master of Counselling degree program offers Internship opportunities consistent with its Scholar/Practitioner/Advocate model of education and professional training.  Our student trainees have earned the reputation of being ethical, hardworking, and well-prepared for the counselling they undertake across a wide range of clinical settings.  Successful in securing placements within large mental health organizations, small community-based low barrier clinics, as well as private practices, our interns do a great job of paving the way for those coming up behind.

Internship placements provide students with the opportunity to gain experience working with clients directly under qualified supervision,  often develop and facilitate group and workshop offerings, learn about grant applications, and in the case of private practice settings – the opportunity to learn about the business side of the profession.

CityU’s Internship Coordinators are always keen to answer any questions prospective students may have about this component of our degree program.

If you are already a student and have applied for an Internship, you can find the forms for your specific location here.
